REGARDING OUR ONLINE PRICES -
Many of our manufacturers ask us to adhere to "MAP" prices (*Minimally Advertised Price), set by them.
Internet price wars have made life difficult for retailers, so I can appreciate their attempt to "regulate" the chaos. :O)
By the way, we are a REAL store, not just a website. (*Use the "Contact Us" to ask for directions and we’ll send them to you!)
However, there are times you may find the same product on other sites at lower prices, so here’s the situation.
1.) Sometimes others publish prices lower than they’re supposed to. They may get away with it, but we prefer to honor our manufacturers by adhering to their online rules. After all, it’s their product so they should have the freedom to control the way it’s handled. It’s that old "Golden Rule" of doing unto another the way we’d want them to do unto us.
2.) There’s also a tendency in the online price wars for some websites to price things ridiculously low, then tack on super high postage "and handling" charges, thus making your savings null and void. We don’t do that. Instead we try and keep your shipping as close to the actual shipping cost as we can. In fact, we save and recycle boxes, bubble wrap, packing "peanuts" just so we can pass those savings on to you!
If you’re local to Columbia, SC, pick up your purchases and save on shipping! Call me (803) 749-0777 and set up a time to pick purchases up. I’ll gladly tell you if I have it in stock!
3.) To combat internet fraud, some manufacturers now have
"RULES" for selling their products online. If these rules aren’t followed, then you - the consumer - may be put at risk so be careful when those prices seem too good to be true.
For example, Blendtec’s warranty applies only to authorized Blendtec dealers. My Favorite Things is an authorized Blendtec dealer in good standing.
If you buy a mill or mixer from someone that is not authorized to sell Blendtec products, Blendtec says you risk having your warranty become null and void.
This actually happened to an acquaintance who bought a mill online only to discover the company she bought it from didn’t "exist" in Blendtec’s records. We have no idea where they were getting their mills from, but it wasn’t Blendtec and I believe it was damaged in shipping. So, buyer beware.
4.) In our store, many of our products are discounted 10% or more because we know what it’s like to be a one-income family, trying to eat healthy on a budget!
So touch base with us on what you’re looking for and we’ll do the best we can for you! Thanks and take care!
