Every now and then, Iím asked if I have a favorite "this" or "that" so I decided to start a list of favorite businesses that we sometimes support and promote.
Thereís nothing in this for me, ok? Weíve not charged a fee for advertising, donít trade services, (*though we should, you know? ha!)but rather weíve chosen to very selectively place a few favorites here.
If you let them know we sent you, then theyíll know how much we appreciate them. Thatís always nice, you know?!
Ok, letís first get our own "personal" favorites out of the way.....
FAVORITE HOMEBASED BUSINESS - hands down itís GNLD!
Weíve tried EVERYTHING before, (*even becoming a Sales Director with a "pink" cosmetic company and staying with them almost 30 years!), but GNLD has outshined them all!
We love their products, the results we get, the fact we can order JUST ONE of anything, and the lack of "requirements" - (*i.e. no required meetings, no required sales, no required orders, no minimum sized orders, etc.)
This company truly lets us do things the way thatís best for us and our family, and thatís so cool!
If you want more info, contact Mark or I by clicking on the little email "envelope" at the top of the page, or by calling our shop phone at (803)920-8363.
FAVORITE REAL ESTATE AGENT -
If you need to list a house, or find a house, my husband Mark is the man to call!
Are you a "first home" buyer wanting a good deal yet a solid home? Or wanting a few acres to homestead or create a "hobby" farm on? Maybe you want to see the sun set over Lake Murray each evening! Or buy rental property to build an extensive portfolio - Mark can do it all and works extremely hard for those entrusted to him.
Call him on his cell at 803.920.3744.
FAVORITE INSURANCE AGENT - Again, my Mark!
Mark handles all kinds of insurance (*auto, home, life, etc.) and works hard to get you the best deal he can.
MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT ended December 7th so he canít make changes for those already on it until the next Open Enrollment, but if you or someone you know is turning 65, he can help explain your options to help you make decisions.
Heís helped a lot of seniors with Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans. Please call him at (803) 920-3744 or email him through this website if he can assist you or someone you know.
FAVORITE PECAN CRACKING SERVICE - Our son!
Seriously, heís young, but he works hard and does a great job, and heís got a really amazing electric pecan cracking machine that delivers nicely cracked pecans!
Contact Mark or I if interested. Weíre his agents!
FAVORITE DENTIST -
Rick Jackson has taken gentle care of us for almost 30 years! The dentist I had before him was a NUT, so itís taken a lot of TLC to get me past my fear of white coats!
If you need a lot of work, heíll also work within your budget, helping you prioritize exactly which procedures are most urgent and which can wait a bit. Oh, and heíll also do oral sedation for those who have had traumatic dental experiences in the past.

FAVORITE EYE DOCTOR -
Dr. Robert Branch and his wife, Jane, run an excellent eye care center! He does the exams and she helps you get the proper style and fit of glasses so they are truly a "team" effort! Weíve known them for decades as our children have been the "best" of friends, even coaxing Bob to coach their softball team. (*Theyíre grown up now and he still coaches so that says a lot about his character right there!)
Dr. Branch has done all our "usual" sort of eye stuff - test our eyes, check for conditions, prescribe glasses, search for injuries such as pokes, papercuts, etc. to the eyeball. You know...the usual stuff that goes with life.
Check them out at http://www.eyecare-sc.com. I think they have offices in Irmo, Chapin, and Newberry so call first to see which which location theyíre at. Their Chapin phone number is 803-345-3170.
FAVORITE HORSE FARM -
As a child, Iíd visit the Hortons in Kingstree, SC and pray for a ride on their big horse! It was a highlight that fanned my passion for those magnificent creatures.
Uncle Eddie moved away from SC to Tennessee with Aunt Maureen, but he never forgot that love of horses.
Together, they have created a beautiful farm with the most noble horses I have ever seen.
Visit http://www.thirteenoaks.com and prepare to be amazed!
FAVORITE DULCIMER MUSIC -
Markís nephew, Stephen, won top honors in a national dulcimer competition and when you listen to his art, youíll immediately hear why!
Check it out at http://www.stephenhumphries.com and listen to songs from CDs that are available for purchase directly through the site!
PERSONALIZED íGIFTí ITEMS -
FUN GIFT GIVER -
Our niece and her husband have a business called ďFun Gift GiverĒ and they will personalize/monogram all sorts of high quality items Ė banner flags for homes or smaller ones for the garden, door mats, cutting boards, even tote and laundry bags!
Located in Florence, SC, they also have a display in our store, so come! See for yourself the high quality of the samples we have before placing an order. I think youíll be very pleased! Weíve had one of their monogrammed house flags flying outside our home for several years now and itís still in great shape! Iíve noticed they donít fade, or have the monogram peel off like others do, and I believe they have a special technique that makes theirs different. Check them out online at www.fungiftgiver.com!
(If you speak to Christyn, tell her Aunt Cindy & Uncle Mark sent you! :o)
PILLOW TALK LLC -
We also have samples of personalized pillows in the shop now and they are adorable! The pillows are the creation of our other niece and her friend.
Cute ideas are to have your childís name included, or their sports number. One hockey team is considering ordering pillow cases so their entire team can have matching TRAVEL pillows with each pillow having the childís hockey number on it.
They can also transfer a photo to a pillow, such as a gift for a grandparent!
If you want more info, you can go online to www.pillowtalkllc.com or call (803) 269-2348 and ask for Shawna. (*Also tell her Aunt CiCi & Uncle Mark sent you!)
FAVORITE WEBMASTER -
Obviously, our favorite is the one who made this site!
He offers "Complete Internet Consulting - Websites done uniquely - Websites done well!"
You can find his own website at WaterCeiling.com and contact him through there!
("Thanks, Cube, for the great job and the never-ending patience as we created this awesome site together! Youíre the best!")
FAVORITE LOAN OFFICER -

FAVORITE GYMNASTICS STUDIO -
Weíve done all manner of sports with our kids in the past 2 decades, but by far, one of the best places has been Ms. Millie & Ms. Kimís gym! Itís a fun, Christian atmosphere where children are taught well, and encouraged greatly! They also offer special classes for homeschoolers, and have a TEAM that has racked up some impressive trophies and medals!
Their classes are for ages 18 months to ADULT!
They offer an "Open Gym" every Friday night, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m! Moms and dads can sign a waiver, pay a fee and drop their children off long enough to take in a quiet dinner or a movie.
They offer birthday parties - (*for boys & girls with rope swinging, rock climbing, tramp jumping, foam pit and MORE!)
They have summer CAMPS (*American Girl Camp, Circus Camp, All Star Camp, Princess Camp, Christmas in July Camp, Beach Party!)

FAVORITE BIKE SHOP -
Our dear friends, Eddie & Susan have a bike for every need and every price range! Eddieís "history" with bikes is amazing! You can read on their website that Eddie was a former Polish Pro Cyclist and Coach at the KKS Polonia Cycling Club in Warsaw, Poland.
Then, after coming to the U.S. in í85, he worked for the
7-11 Cycling Team. He then joined the United States Cycling Federation, and worked for the U.S. Track Cycling Team. As their site says, "The U.S. Track Team took the Olympic Silver Medal in Atlanta in 1996 and the Olympic Gold Medal in Sydney, Australia in 2000." Impressive, huh?
Eddie has worked with many of the area bike shops so many are familiar with him from other places, but this is their own place!

FAVORITE GASOLINE STATION -
Yes, Iím even picky about my gasoline! An engineering friend said ethanol isnít as good for your car or your mileage as regular, old fashioned gasoline but itís getting hard to find.
He said it wears out your motor quicker plus you get less mileage which makes your gas cost more. Donít take my word for it but search the net yourself and form your own opinion but it does seem that I have to put gasoline in my car less frequently when I do no ethanol.
Ron & Pat at the Get-N-Go in Chapin have gasoline with no ethanol! They are on the corner of Highway 76 and Wessinger Rd. Their phone is 945-9250.
They also offer "fast food" and Iíve been told by my husband and son that their wings and chicken salad is delish! Might even be made from scratch! (*Ask them and see if it still is!)
Highway 76 & Wessinger Rd.
FAVORITE GLASS ARTIST -
Our friend, James, is by far an amazingly accomplished glass artist! We once had a field trip to watch him create glass jewelry and it was simply stunning! If youíre looking for a truly unique gift, check out his work!
T. C. GLASS ARTS
GOLF CENTER -
Our friend, Denis, owns a driving range with a 9 hole Par-3 course. Isnít that so cool? I never knew anyone who owned one of those before!
Anyway, if you ever meet me and see this tilted head, youíll know I couldnít hit a golfball straight if I wanted to, but I know Denis, and heís a good man with a wonderful family, so Iíd like to support his recent "venture"! Check it out!

FAVORITE TACK & FEED SHOP -
Tracey, over at HORSE SENSE has been a very special blessing to us in the "early" days of Favorites for she shared her warehouse, and even a forklift, with us! On several grain orders, she even rolled up those sleeves and helped unload!
So, if you have a horse, or livestock, check out:
Theyíre located in the Lexington, SC area but have moved since I last visited so youíll need to call for directions.
FAVORITE DOG GROOMER -
Sommer, over at Wet Nose Oasis, has been wonderful for our little Malti-Poo, "Abby"! When Abby got her first "haircut", I think it took Sommer 3 hours because Abby was so curious and Sommer didnít want to rush and create any fear in her. She wanted that first visit to set the pace for all future visits so that Abby would look forward to her grooming time there.
Sommer was the first to educate me on how harmful a dog or cat food high in grains can be to your precious pets.
(*Ok, so Iím the "Grainlady", but cats and dogs are carnivores (*aka meat-eaters). I just donít believe their digestive system was created to handle grains well.
For years we purchased all our pet foods from them and our Great Dane that lived to be 13 and romped all over the back yard was proof they worked!
Less grains in their food also meant less yard "mess", (if you know what I mean!), and thatís nice, too!
So, see if they can help you have a healthier pet!
