WELCOME TO MY FAVORITE THINGS!
Thirty years ago, our journey began with simple changes. Our rice became "brown". Our flour became "whole".
August of ’91 took us even deeper into whole grains when we bought a K-Tec Mill, a mixer, and a pail of wheat "berries"!
The K-Tec Mill is now called Blendtec and it’s an AMAZING milling machine, but it didn’t take long to realize that MILLING is the EASY part!
BAKING with freshly ground, whole grain flour - that’s the challenge! Since I only sell that which I believe in, I spent the next SIX years mastering baking with whole grain flour, creating my own recipes, tweaking them until my husband and children gave each a "thumbs up"!
Since our goal is to simplify the journey so you can savor hot muffins and pancakes soon as possible, we send my personal instructions and my original recipes with each mill we sell.
You see, we’re not a giant warehouse filled with telemarketers. We’re a small family business so our personal service goes into everything we do for you.
About every 2 or 3 weeks, I write a newsletter. It’s called "The Forum" because I encourage my readers to share their knowledge, too. It’s free, but only to those who ask, and it’s for information and educational purposes only.
We don’t know it all, but what we do know, we gladly share but please understand that we’re not doctors or nurses, so don’t ask us to diagnose, prescribe or treat. That’s not our gift so please see your health care professional for that.
I’m just a mom, caring for our own, and sharing what I learn along the way - that’s all - and Mark’s just a husband, wonderful enough to believe in this "odd" work we started so long ago.
Should you decide to use anything from The Forum, or this site, or from conversations with us, please do so at your own risk for we won’t be held liable in any way. Thank you for understanding.
Over the years, we’ve added more products, but one thing remains the same - we only carry our favorites - and everyone in our home, from the youngest to the oldest, has a say in what it takes to be a favorite.
Welcome aboard! We’re glad to have you join us!
Cindy and Mark
P.S. In January 2008, we also began a "gluten free" journey. It’s just amazing the paths God takes us on, isn’t it?
As we discover our favorites in gluten free, we’ll be sharing them, too, especially for those who’d like to mill and bake with gluten free flour!
We hope to soon add gluten free cookbooks with my own recipes and either a gluten free newsletter or blog.
Keep checking back as we grow in this new, additional direction.
